General Manager of VAS since 2014 and Senior Coach for the past 15 years, Ricky is a highly regarded Teacher and Industry Professional.
He has had extensive training and has studied various styles of modern singing. A highlight was receiving the highest mark in Australia for Grade 8 Rockschool (London) as well as completing the Certificate in Performance from AMEB. He has also successfully completed a Diploma of Music Performance with RSL Awards (London)
Ricky was Top 5 on Australian Idol in 2006. The Idol journey made Ricky a household name when he performed on television to millions of viewers across Australia each week as well as performing at the AFL Grand Final, Various Television Performances and special appearances.
Ricky has immense Performance Experience and has worked in various cover bands and corporate acts across the country and overseas. In 2014 he supported Billboard No.1 Artist "Maxi Priest" and in 2015 was the support act for Ashanti and 112.
His original music has had success across Australia with Radio and Commercial Airplay, as well as working in Popular Melbourne Corporate Bands, Solo and Acoustic Duo.
In 2018, Ricky won "Ballad of the Year" and "Best Live Performance" at the Australian Songwriters Association Awards. The song was released in both ballad and dance versions in December 2019 and is available across all online digital platforms.
He has trained, performed and had vast experience with music education in the UK, France, USA and Italy.
Ricky is very experienced in working with ensembles, Solo Performer's and Performance skills which is a testimony to the high results they have had over the last few years. He also works with Songwriting students and our Talent Development Program.
